Sara Martin, M.A. CCC – SLP

Speech-language pathologist Sara Martin works with clients to help improve their quality of life through better communication.

Sara holds her national certification, referred to as Cs, through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Sara earned her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Eastern Michigan University and has worked with adults and children.

Most recently, Sara worked with students in Detroit Public Schools ranging in age from preschoolers through age 20. Speech-Language Pathology is a second career for Sara, who spent more than a decade as a journalist in daily newspapers and later in web-based media. Sara earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Bowling Green State University. 

Sara is certified in Hanen Centre’s ‘It Takes Two to Talk.’ She is trained in orofacial myology and an active member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology. She is also trained in Lively Letters and Sight Words You Can See.

Sara launched her private practice, Speech With Sara LLC, in June 2016. She earned an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association ACE Award in July 2017 for completing more than 70 hours of continuing education during a 3-year certification maintenance cycle.

Intervention plans at Speech With Sara LLC are established following a comprehensive evaluation. Client and family input is an important part of developing the plan. Age-appropriate toys, games and literacy materials are used with research-based methods to ensure efficient, meaningful progress for clients.
